My contact, who works at both locations as hostess, tells me that they stopped selling it due to lack of interest. Perhaps Seed, which just opened another location in The Healing Center, might have it. Good luck!
Love the place for healthy breakfast. It was close to the Airbnb we were staying in in town. It’s really hard to find simple healthy vegan options for breakfast in this town. I had a fresh juice and an out meal with soy milk. The staff was very friendly, young cool millennials! And they have seating outside. Cool place
Spotless and inviting restaurant with friendly and efficient service and absolutely delicious food. The shrimp and grits were perfectly seasoned. Loved the art on the walls, too. Thanks for a terrific brunch!
Shrimp and grits, whenever someone comes to visit ask for shrimp and grits this is our go to place. Always worth the wait.
One of the best places in the area for breakfast. Make sure to try their Banana Foster French Toast.
Omg... the only thing that comes to mind is delicious!!! Totally worth that wait.
Low profile venue with tasty breakfast plates. Outside seating is great. Ordered the Crabmeat omelette, delicious!
Still not open... I am hearing rumors that they will reopen in August. That said- there's a new "For Sale" sign...
Such a great place! Love the friendly honest service. The food was very good. If I get back to NOLA Surrey's is a must go to breakfast stop.
The food was so delicious. Nice intimate establishment with a wonderful wait staff.
Food is great! Staff is always friendly. It is a really cozy, laid back spot for anyone. Would reccomend it to anyone to try it. Seating is limited so I suggest to try to go during off peak hours. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants to visit.
I was in town visiting family and decided to drop in for breakfast. The Cajun omelet with grits and banana’s foster french toast were EXCELLENT! The staff was extremely friendly! I will be definitely back!
Surrey's is one of my favorite places to have brunch. It is almost always crowded, so I haven't dined here as frequently. The vegan pain perdu has consistently been my favorite dish. The juices are good. the avocado mash is like guac. The banana pancake I got here today was a bit doughy and not as good as it was the last time. The veggie omelette was really plain. I would not order it again.
First, I have passed by this gem 1000 times and never thought anything of it. That was my folly. From the moment my wife and I arrived the staff was attentive. Upon being seated we were immediately attended for drinks and water. Our server, Mark... the most pleasant person I have ever met in this industry. Super helpful with menu items and immediately identified items needed to maintain our experience. Once it arrived, the food was amazing. My wife enjoyed her meal, the avocado pesto sandwich. I had the special, the creole shrimp omelet, which was phenomenal. Once we were done, Mark ensured that we didnt need anything and brought the check. Deshawn went out of her way and stepped outside where we were sitting and asked if I was military. I said yes and she applied a discount. The attention to detail, atmosphere, food quality, and staff gives this restaurant my highest regard. Thank you Surrey.
Absolutely loved our breakfast here! Staff is very friendly, the interior is cosy and the music on point. I had the king pancake which was super delicious, but way too big! The coffee is very good too, as is the fruit. My boyfriend and I arrived soon after opening and there was no wait, but when we left around 9:30 there were several groups waiting, so keep that in mind. The place is also very kid friendly, but that does mean there is quite a lot of kid’s shouting and running around.
Awesome breakfast, natural fresh juice smoothies & Boudin patties.
I normally don't give 5 stars because nothing is great but on this visit something happened. I put something very valuable on the table and forgot it the table was cleaned off and my valuable was thrown in the trash. Mark the server and Rodney jumped into action I was told not to touch the trash they had it Mary came up and asked what was going on after Mark told her she grabbed a trash bag to go through Mark found my lost item. Mark and Rodney went the extra mile to help me and I'm so thankful to the 3 of them. It was my first time at Surrey's. I ordered egg and salmon it very good I will be back
Wow!!! Highest Recommendations!!!Staff is Wonderful.Food is amazing. French toast!!! Salmon Omelette!!! Grits and biscuits!!!! Felt right at homeThank YouCan't wait to make it back!!!
If you do not make it here for the shrimp and grits, you are missing out! Being from the north, we thought we’d had shrimp and grits, NO, we had not. We are ruined for this dish any place else, but that’s ok...a reason to return. Do yourself a favor and make your belly HAPPY!
I'm not a huge go-out-for-breakfast type of guy, but this place is worth it! We haven't been disappointed with any of the specialties yet, I'm partial to the crab meat omelette but the bananas foster French toast will put two people into a cheerful food coma. The crab omelette is great because it's the perfect amount of food for me, I leave full but not stuffed. The dense biscuit pairs well to mop up the juices but the sourdough bread isn't bad either. My friend had the satsuma orange juice last time and couldn't stop raving about it. My wife had the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon which were very good especially if you like the smoked flavor to come through. The service has always been pleasant and prompt. We typically go on weekends, so it's key to get there before 9am and there's no wait.
The absolute BEST French toast I've ever had.
Amazing food, excellent service! Totally worth every penny. It has a real homey feel. I shared several dishes with my friends. I highly recommend the shrimp n grits and banana french toast.
Always good.
Everyone there was extremely nice. The food was fantastic as well
A lovely, dog friendly breakfast nook! The outdoor patio had shaded seating which was great for our pups. The waiter even brought out a water bowl for them which was a really nice touch. We had the breakfast burrito and the cajun omelet--both were huge and very tasty! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great eats off in a quieter section of Magazine St.
Loved this spot. Friendly welcoming staff, and tasty tasty food! I went for the corned beef hash, one of the best things I ate in NOLA. Great value for money.
Cute little cafe with THE MOST AMAZING SHRIMP & GRITS I'VE EVER TASTED OHMIGAWD. Super friendly staff and fun decor.
Great breakfast menu, hash is awesome and nothing is oily and messy. Biscuits are DENSE, but homemade and wonderful.
Everytime I've been to Surrey's I've had a great experience. Good food, reasonable prices, decent to good service. There's often a wait on weekend mornings, but the patio is beautiful to wait on. There isn't space inside to wait at all.
Beautiful building with character and art. Very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend. The food was great and the service was even better. My wife's omelette with crab meat was amazing and my eggs with salmon was perfect. Other restaurants should take note of how this restaurant operates, overall A+.Update: One year later still great experience, a must when visiting New Orleans.
Hands down our favorite breakfast / brunch place. Their iced coffee is some sort of magical recipe that is inexplicably delicious (I wish they would sell it by gallon). Everything we have eaten there has been wonderful. My wife always has the Costa Rican breakfast which she obviously loves. The rest of us have thoroughly enjoyed every dish we have ordered.
Amazing! Everybody is friendly here and they work together. Food is great and quickly served. I'll be coming back.
We just enjoyed an amazing breakfast at Surrey’s Uptown. The four of us each had something different and we all enjoyed our meals thoroughly and shared with each other. Standouts were the biscuits and gravy and Pain Perdu, but the breakfast burrito and crab meat omelet were very yummy also. Service was perfect! Plenty of coffee refills that were definitely needed. Hostess was very accommodating, rearranging tables and chairs to best serve large groups. We loved it so much we’re planning to go back tomorrow! Don’t miss this wonderful restaurant!!!
I loved this place! The food was great and the amount of food was well worth the money paid. I also loved their blended juice mix. Would totally go again!
What a great breakfast spot, quickly refilled coffee, service was incredibly attentive and all in a venue which makes it easy to relax because of the casual atmosphere. The food was good and the portions were appropriate. I had a boudin omelette which was prime time and my date a breakfast burrito which was piping hot and tasty. Will be back.
I've been seeing great reviews of Surrey's so I decided to check for myself. I played it safe and ordered the shrimp and grits. DELICIOUS! All I can say is the menu looked great and I'll be back.
Food was excellent. The breakfast burrito is one of the best I’ve ever had, and the cheese was excellent quality. The vegan avocado pesto was also amazing. Staff was friendly and place was clean. Very cozy atmosphere.
Super delicious brunch food! I got their corned beef hash with eggs and homemade biscuit. Absolutely wonderful! Def worth a visit!
Came back for the Shrimp & Grits cause they were so good the first time around! All of the staff was very attentive and friendly. I love this spot-Becoming a staple for every NOLA trip. The salmon scrambled eggs were so tasty, rich and fluffy. Paired with perfectly cooked and seasoned home fries and a warm buttery biscuit. Will return! Sometimes there can be a short wait to be seated but the Host is great and was able to seat all waiting in a reasonable time.
Surrey's Uptown is a go to spot. Never a second guess. Food is always delicious. I try something new each time and so I'm just about through the menu. My favorites are the Banana's Foster French Toast and their incredible Shrimp n Grits. My opinion, they are the best I've had in the city. Surrey's Uptown is on the list for out of town guest whether I am with them or not. Comfortable atmosphere and incredibly friendly wait staff. Love the art!
Good place for breakfast. Nice atmosphere with good food.
We always love this place. We brought guests this time and they loved it too!! Great food.
Gotta have shrimp and grits. Fourth trip to NoLa fourth trip to Surreys.
Great atmosphere. Lovely people. Absolutely delicious food!
This was *THE* best French Toast that I have ever had. If you go here you have to order the Bananas Fosters French Toast. Good luck trying to eat it nice and slow, because it's so good you'll want to cram it in your face as fast as possible! Good service and a nice little hipster atmosphere round this out as a nice little place that I would definitely go to again and recommend!
Great food. Great service
The bananas foster french toast was amazing, unlike any fosters I had ever had! Instead of Challah bread topped with bananas and syrup, this French toast came in triangle squares stuffed with banana cream and was served with a rum and brown sugar sauce. It was ridiculously delicious!
Quickly became a hometown favorite where I take all visiting friends. Great friendly wait staff. Incredibly quick kitchen. Delicious entres. Shrimp n grits are spectacular. Pictured is the crawfish with grit cakes. Delicious.
Incredible crawfish omlette
Service was great my grits and shrimp was best out all dish fresh apple juice over price for small cup my cup hot water was bigger biscuits and gravy was bad due to hard of biscuits
Honestly Surrey’s is a great local breakfast joint with delicious food and a cute atmosphere. Super friendly staff!
